Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Needno Badges (ranked 3045 p4p, 2234 weight class) and Dag Schotel (ranked 381 p4p, 285 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Needno Badges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dag Schotel! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Badges uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Schotel. Badges throws a body shot but no joy. A nice side step and Schotel releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Badges lands a nice looking body shot.
Schotel defending well as Badges loads up on a big left hand. Schotel has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Schotel keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Needno Badges has been cut. Schotel dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Badges seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Badges fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Schotel on the side of the head. A punch lands to the side of Schotel 's head but he takes it in his stride. Schotel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Badges connects with a right hand. Schotel shakes it off. A lazy left from Schotel finds it's target. This has been an exciting period of action! Badges throws a series of punches but Schotel moves out of range. Schotel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Badges. Badges connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Schotel's hands. Schotel takes one on the button. Schotel fails to land the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badges misses with an uppercut. Schotel throws a poor cross that misses
and Badges counters with a stiff right hand. Schotel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Badges. Schotel moves out of range of the strikes. Badges moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Schotel thuds a left hand into Badges's body. Schotel lands with a good body shot. Schotel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Badges was well out of range. Poor timing from Schotel. Badges will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schotel thows a left - swing and a miss! Badges waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Schotel. Badges jabbing away but nothing is landing. Badges walks into a stiff left hand from Schotel.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Badges ducks under a wild hook from Schotel. Badges throws a big counter combination but Schotel scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Badges tries to sprawl but Schotel drives through with a takedown into half guard. Badges is trying to stand back up but Schotel is controlling him
Schotel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Badges doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schotel. Badges knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schotel on the ground. Schotel trying to mount his opponent but Badges defends it. Badges on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schotel is nestled in close to Badges, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schotel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Badges's head. Schotel lands with a punch from half guard. Badges won't allow Schotel to pass to mount. Schotel seems to be working for a kimura but Badges defends the submission attempt. Schotel stops Badges from getting back to his feet.
Badges blocking the ground and pound attempt from Schotel. Schotel drops an elbow to the side of Badges's head. Schotel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Badges does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Schotel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Schotel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schotel tries to pass to full mount but Badges defends it. Schotel missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Schotel is just content to waste time from the top position. Badges takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Schotel in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Schotel is working Badges over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dag Schotel will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Needno Badges's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Schotel misses with a hook. Schotel slips under a jab. Schotel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Badges napping and manages to drive through into side control! Badges tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Badges is trying to get back to his feet but Schotel has full control of the position and if anything, Badges has just worked his way into a worse spot. Schotel connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Badges to escape the position.
Badges wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes. Schotel scoring with strikes but Badges is staying in there. Schotel is trying to control here but Badges has managed to regain half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Schotel not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schotel frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Schotel lands a nice shot to the head. Schotel landing strikes, looking to finish! Schotel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Badges is rocked! Schotel connects with a bit shot that sees Badges covering up! More strikes from Schotel and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Schotel is our winner by TKO!
