Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Balthazar Bolleke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jackie Chan!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan has closed the distance and engaged Bolleke in a clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bolleke as Chan tries to tie him up.
Bolleke leaning his opponent against the cage.
Bolleke is pressed up against the cage. Chan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bolleke down to the mat. Bolleke avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Chan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bolleke lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Chan at a distance.
Nice uppercut lands for Bolleke. That snapped Chan's head back.
Bolleke changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bolleke content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Chan tries to buck Bolleke off but Bolleke is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Chan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bolleke connects with a decent elbow.
Bolleke lands an elbow.
Bolleke has an Americana. Chan didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bolleke is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bolleke hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Balthazar Bolleke!
A relieved looking Balthazar Bolleke thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
