Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris John (ranked 356 p4p, 1078 weight class) and Dusty Sleeth (ranked 54 p4p, 151 weight class). John comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop Me Now. Dusty Sleeth has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris John!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dusty Sleeth!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John scores with the left hand. Sleeth knows he should have avoided that one.

It looks like Dusty Sleeth has been cut.
John lands with a straight right. Sleeth didn't see that one coming.
John bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sleeth's head backwards.
Sleeth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. John manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sleeth has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by John.
Nice cross by John.

Sleeth is rocked!
A shot to the liver by John. Beautiful body shot.
Sleeth is still on wobbly legs! Can John finish him?
Sleeth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has John pinned against the cage. John gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sleeth seems to have recovered his senses.

Sleeth fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging John to the ground. Sleeth is now in John's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sleeth missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

John knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sleeth on the ground.
Sleeth in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

John wants to get back to his feet but Sleeth is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
John is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sleeth dives into side control.
Sleeth moves into full mount!
John throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
John is squirming around, avoiding Sleeth's attempts to control the action.
John swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
John is wriggling around trying to escape.
John manages to regain half guard. Good work.
John on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if John tries to get out of the position.
John is refusing to be controlled, as Sleeth sits in half guard.

John pushes Sleeth off looking to stand but Sleeth dives back in and keeps control.
Sleeth wants to control but John is keeping him busy.
Sleeth working the head and body with strikes.
Sleeth not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
John is refusing to be controlled, as Sleeth sits in half guard.

Sleeth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sleeth not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Sleeth lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

John has one foot on Sleeth's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sleeth.
Sleeth defending well as John loads up on a big left hand.
Sleeth doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Chris John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sleeth on the wrong end of a nice jab.
John scores with a hook.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts John, as that shot connected.
John chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
John connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That has opened up Dusty Sleeth's cut even more.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

John gets caught napping as Sleeth dives in and scores a takedown. John manages to retain guard.

John pushes Sleeth off and scrambles back to his feet.
Sleeth avoids the body shot from John.
John walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sleeth checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Sleeth looking to score a takedown here. John is defending well but Sleeth drives through and ends up in John's guard.
My spies in Mythic Co. inform me that Sleeth has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
John is looking to stand up but Sleeth isn't so interested in that idea.
Sleeth trying to control but John is working from the bottom.
Sleeth lands a couple of decent looking shots.
John is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sleeth pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. John is keeping the position for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Dusty Sleeth's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

John lands with a shot to the body.
We've been told by John's head coaches at Champion Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
John waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sleeth.
John throws a sloppy head kick and Sleeth moves out of range easily.
John throws a jab when Sleeth was well out of range.
Sleeth shoots in looking for a takedown. John tries to sprawl out of it but Sleeth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. John manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A swing and a miss from Sleeth.
A decent looking cross lands there for John.
Nice body punch from John.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sleeth has his takedown stuffed
and John cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
John lands a jab to the head.
Sleeth steps to the side to avoid the strikes from John.
Sleeth feints the counter takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
John paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
John lands the left hand.
Sleeth misses with a takedown attempt
and John counters with a huge left! Sleeth is in big trouble! He's backing up but John isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Sleeth from any more damage. A dominating finish by John!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris John!
Chris John retains his lightweight title!
Chris John thanked the fans post fight for their support.
Dusty Sleeth spoke after the fight, saying 'I’m coming back, better then ever! '.
