Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derwent Bolt (ranked 2323 p4p, 3246 weight class) and Misak Grigorian (ranked 342 p4p, 444 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derwent Bolt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Misak Grigorian! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bolt instigates a clinch. Bolt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bolt manages to end up in side control. Grigorian is not content to let Bolt control the position. Grigorian seems a little lost for a moment, as Bolt dominates the positioning. Bolt working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. You can see the frustration on Grigorian's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Grigorian really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bolt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grigorian is looking to reverse the position. Bolt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Grigorian is being controlled here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bolt tries to advance to mount but can't. Bolt is looking to take a break and control but Grigorian is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bolt slows the pace down. Bolt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Grigorian is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Grigorian is trying to improve his position. Grigorian keeps trying to improve his position. Grigorian stops Bolt from passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Grigorian wants to get back to his feet but Bolt drags him back down. Bolt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Grigorian knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bolt wants to control but Grigorian is keeping him busy. Grigorian is trying to get back to half guard. Bolt passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Grigorian! BOOM! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grigorian won't allow Bolt to pass to mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Derwent Bolt dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Grigorian walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bolt. Nice sprawl there from Bolt as Grigorian shoots in. Bolt stuns Grigorian with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Bolt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grigorian sprawls well. Grigorian wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bolt gets slowly back to his feet. Grigorian tries to counter by closing the distance. Nice sprawl there from Grigorian as Bolt shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derwent Bolt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bolt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grigorian as he avoids it easily. Grigorian shoots in but no luck this time. Bolt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Grigorian can do to turn this around? Bolt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grigorian moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bolt. Grigorian is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Grigorian with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bolt to score with a decent uppercut. Grigorian has Bolt up against the cage in a clinch.

Bolt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Grigorian smiles and moves away.
Grigorian is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Grigorian closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bolt circles away. Bolt with a lazy takedown attempt and Grigorian counters with a one-two to the body. Bolt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Grigorian tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bolt is in Grigorian's guard. Grigorian is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Grigorian pulls guard effortlessly. Bolt passes into half guard. Bolt moves nicely into side control. Grigorian gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bolt controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bolt prevents Grigorian from getting the reversal. Bolt has control of Grigorian's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Grigorian regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bolt is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Grigorian is surviving well by controlling Bolt's body position as best he can. Bolt looking to control but Grigorian is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Bolt controlling the pace for now. Bolt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Grigorian sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Bolt prevents Grigorian from improving his position. Grigorian is looking to escape.

Derwent Bolt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bolt keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bolt has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bolt controlling his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Derwent Bolt dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Bolt throws a shot to the body.
Bolt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Grigorian tries to clinch there but Bolt circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Grigorian has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bolt is working away from the top position though. Grigorian is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bolt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bolt's back! Bolt trying to control the position but Grigorian manages to sink in the hooks. Grigorian keeps control of the position as Bolt tries to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bolt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bolt is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Grigorian wants to control the pace but Bolt is squirming around nicely. Bolt is in all sorts of trouble here.
Misak Grigorian has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bolt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Grigorian misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Bolt blocks the strikes from Grigorian.
Derwent Bolt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Grigorian is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bolt pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Derwent Bolt showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bolt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
