Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jovan Dickons (ranked 1582 p4p, 1259 weight class) and Lawson Chandler (ranked 257 p4p, 206 weight class). Dickons comes to the cage accompanied by Sidung. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jovan Dickons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lawson Chandler!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickons swings for the body but Chandler moves out of range.
Chandler throws a head kick that misses.
It looked like Dickons wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Chandler has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Chandler there as he acknowledges the shot.
Chandler throws a jab but it's blocked by Dickons.
A nice leg kick from Chandler, right into the meat of the thigh.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Chandler has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Chandler tries to bum rush Dickons with a series of wild strikes but Dickons uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Dickons makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dickons scores with a takedown into Chandler's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dickons wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chandler keeps working.
Dickons is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chandler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dickons is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chandler is just riding it out for now. Dickons eventually gives up the hold.
Chandler wants to control but Dickons is keeping busy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chandler is not content to let Dickons control the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dickons accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dickons throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chandler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dickons loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chandler looks to land a right hand but Dickons moved out of range.
Dickons swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Chandler uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The crowd cheers as Chandler lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dickons doesn't seem phased though.

Lawson Chandler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dickons throws a hook to the side of Chandler's head but Chandler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Chandler counters with a stiff right hand.
Chandler scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dickons connects with a jab.
Chandler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dickons changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dickons loads up on a big right hand but Chandler slips the punch.
Chandler waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dickons.
Dickons dives in and scores a takedown into Chandler's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chandler is pulling down on Dickons's head. It's preventing any offense from Dickons, at least for the moment.
Dickons trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Chandler manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lawson Chandler will probably get the nod.

Dickons throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Dickons takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Chandler jabs Dickons right on the nose. Dickons blinks but takes it well.
Chandler throws a lazy head kick
and Dickons connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dickons scores with a one two! Chandler had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Chandler bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Dickons swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dickons's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dickons duly obliges.
Chandler checks a leg kick nicely.
Chandler is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dickons.
Chandler is rocked!
Dickons shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Chandler is on queer street and Dickons is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
