Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Mendes (ranked 3923 p4p, 5358 weight class) and Kevin McGrew (ranked 465 p4p, 555 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mendes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Future - Last Breath. Paulo Mendes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Mendes catches McGrew right on the button with a cross.
A jab from Mendes does it's job there.
Nice jab there from Mendes.
Mendes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McGrew's guard.
McGrew wants to stand and escape but Mendes is having none of it.
Mendes wants to control from the top but McGrew keeps moving.
Mendes slips nicely into half guard.
McGrew trying to hold on to Mendes's head to control him but Mendes postures up.
Mendes has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can McGrew defend it? Mendes steps over the head and cranks it - McGrew is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mendes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paulo Mendes!
Paulo Mendes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
