Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ghengis Khan (ranked 437 p4p, 348 weight class) and Ahjo Kuomanen (ranked 28 p4p, 21 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Ghengis Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ahjo Kuomanen! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Khan. Kuomanen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kuomanen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Khan moves into the clinch successfully.
Kuomanen's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A head punch on the inside from Kuomanen fails to land. Khan scores with a nice hook to the head. Khan slows down the pace here.
Kuomanen lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
It looks like Ghengis Khan has been cut. A left hand lands to the body for Khan.
Kuomanen lands a right hand. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. I was talking to Khan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Still in the clinch, Kuomanen scores with a nice short uppercut. Khan lands with a right to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kuomanen gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Khan regains guard.
Kuomanen tries to free his leg and advance position but Khan is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kuomanen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan keeping moving, preventing Kuomanen from controlling successfully. Khan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kuomanen. Khan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kuomanen throws a body punch but Khan moves out of range. Khan dips to his left and cracks Kuomanen with an uppercut! Khan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Khan throws a right hand that misses
and Kuomanen counters with a straight right hand. Khan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kuomanen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Khan connects with a looping right hand.
Khan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kuomanen doesn't seem bothered though. Khan wants to clinch. Khan avoids the body shot from Kuomanen.
Khan slips under a jab from Kuomanen. Kuomanen lands with a straight right. Khan didn't see that one coming. Kuomanen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Khan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Khan lands a nice looking body shot.
Kuomanen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan misses with a wild body shot. Khan moves in looking to clinch but Kuomanen pushes him off. Jab, jab by Khan - just one landing. Kuomanen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Khan quickly recovers to half guard. Kuomanen is keen to just control but Khan is a slippery customer. Kuomanen sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kuomanen trying to control the action but Khan is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khan tries to roll over but Kuomanen keeps him under control. Kuomanen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kuomanen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Khan has managed to free his arm - good work. Kuomanen performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Khan is defending against the submission attempts here by Kuomanen.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ahjo Kuomanen will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ghengis Khan's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Kuomanen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jab by Khan. Khan throws a hook but Kuomanen avoids it easily. Kuomanen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Khan throws a big shot that misses. Kuomanen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kuomanen lands a right hook to the body.
Khan jabs Kuomanen to the body, keeping him at a distance. A slow jab from Khan misses its intended target. It seemed like Kuomanen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Khan swings widly with a right hand
enabling Kuomanen to counter with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khan just misses with a punch to the body.
Kuomanen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Khan as he avoids it easily. Khan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kuomanen manages to avoid it. Khan swings for the body but Kuomanen moves out of range.
Kuomanen is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Khan with a body shot. Kuomanen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kuomanen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ghengis Khan is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Khan misses with a wild body shot. Kuomanen moves out of range of the strikes. Kuomanen drives through with a takedown into Khan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kuomanen throws a big right hand that misses. Kuomanen landing some decent shots from guard. Kuomanen throwing strikes from guard but Khan blocks nicely. Kuomanen controls from within his opponent's guard. Kuomanen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Khan is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuomanen wants to control from the top but Khan keeps moving. Kuomanen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Khan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kuomanen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Khan controls Kuomanen momentarily but Kuomanen frees himself. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kuomanen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kuomanen postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuomanen's corner is telling him to maintain position. Kuomanen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Khan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kuomanen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Khan finds it's way round the side to connect with Kuomanen's head. Khan slips under a jab from Kuomanen. Khan wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Kuomanen digs a good body shot into Khan's ribs. Khan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Khan misses with a hook. Kuomanen ducked under it nicely. Kuomanen looks like he wants to counter punch here. Kuomanen ducks under a wild hook from Khan. Khan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Kuomanen shoots in but Khan avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kuomanen defending well as Khan loads up on a big left hand. Kuomanen throws a body shot but no joy. Kuomanen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Khan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Kuomanen works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Khan tries to buck Kuomanen off but Kuomanen is having none of it. Kuomanen moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Kuomanen throws an elbow but Khan slips to the side and avoids it well. Khan is not content to let Kuomanen control the position. Kuomanen in side control, just content to control the action for now. The strikes coming from Kuomanen are missing the target in this wave of attacks. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ahjo Kuomanen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ghengis Khan's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Kuomanen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Khan sizes up Kuomanen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Khan, as that shot connected.
Kuomanen slips under a jab from Khan. Khan connects with a nice looking jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Kuomanen misses the target. Kuomanen scores with a hook to the body. Khan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Khan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kuomanen counters with a lovely straight right hand! Khan moves out of range as Kuomanen strikes. A swing and a miss from Kuomanen. Khan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kuomanen. Kuomanen circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kuomanen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Ghengis Khan's cut is getting worse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kuomanen slips a straight right by Khan. Kuomanen is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Khan with a body shot. Kuomanen walks into a straight right hand from Khan. Kuomanen lands with a hook. Khan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Khan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kuomanen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Khan's head. Ghengis Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Khan wants it to stay on the feet. A swing and a miss from Kuomanen. Kuomanen connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Khan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Khan throws a lazy uppercut
and Kuomanen counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Khan thinking. Khan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kuomanen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Khan with a hook. Kuomanen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kuomanen misses with a looping left. Kuomanen moves out of range as Khan strikes. Kuomanen staying out of range there. Kuomanen feints the counter takedown. Kuomanen blocks a jab. Kuomanen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kuomanen shoots in but Khan avoids the takedown attempt easily. A little feinted left hand from Khan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kuomanen throws a looping overhand right but Khan ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slow jab from Kuomanen misses its intended target. Khan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Khan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kuomanen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kuomanen darts in looking for a takedown but Khan gets double underhooks and turns Kuomanen into the cage. Ghengis Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ahjo Kuomanen. Kuomanen moves out of range of the strikes. Kuomanen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Khan tries to clinch but Kuomanen is having none of it. Kuomanen is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Khan with a body shot. A lazy left from Kuomanen finds it's target. Khan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan looks to land a left hand but Kuomanen moved out of range nicely. Kuomanen is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Khan throws the left hand but Kuomanen avoids the punch easily. Khan throws an off balance right hand
and Kuomanen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ghengis Khan's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Kuomanen has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Khan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kuomanen manages to avoid it. Khan throws a body shot but no joy. Khan is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kuomanen. Khan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kuomanen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sloppy strikes there by Kuomanen. Kuomanen advances nicely into full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kuomanen throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Kuomanen unloads with some shots from mount but Khan bucks and avoids them well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kuomanen looking to control but Khan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Khan regains half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kuomanen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Khan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Kuomanen is working for a kimura but Khan is defending it quite comfortably.
Ghengis Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kuomanen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ahjo Kuomanen. I've got Kuomanen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
