Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 1427 p4p, 3332 weight class) and Bubba Rolls (ranked 192 p4p, 408 weight class). Rolls has chosen Moonshine Bandits - For The Outlawz as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bubba Rolls!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggan scores with a leg kick.
Duggan throws a quick inside leg kick.
Duggan cracks Rolls with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Rolls shoots for a takedown but Duggan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rolls wants to clinch.
Rolls throws a series of punches but Duggan moves out of range.
Duggan connects with a leg kick.
Rolls gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Duggan.
Duggan wants to land a leg kick but Rolls is out of range.
Rolls on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Duggan. Duggan obviously looking to wear him down.
Rolls tries for a takedown but Duggan circles away easily
and Duggan counters with a thumping low kick.

Rolls looking to score a takedown here. Duggan is defending well but Rolls drives through and ends up in Duggan's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rolls trying to control the position from guard on top but Duggan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duggan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rolls postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Rolls pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Duggan is keeping the position for now.
Duggan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Duggan keeping moving, preventing Rolls from controlling successfully.
Duggan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Duggan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rolls uses it to pass to side control.
Duggan is trying to improve his position.
Duggan is working hard here to advance position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rolls is trying to ground and pound but Duggan uses the momentary lack of control by Rolls to regain half guard.
Duggan is looking for a sweep. Rolls is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duggan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rolls.
Duggan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rolls throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rolls with a flurry of punches that miss.

Duggan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rolls is aware though and is defending well.
Rolls is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rolls pushing down on Duggan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Duggan is trying to maintain the position but Rolls is very close to passing his half guard.
Rolls working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Duggan's thigh. Duggan counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Rolls throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Duggan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Duggan working for a triangle but Rolls defends it easily.
Rolls is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rolls keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Duggan's head.

Duggan working for submissions but it's allowed Rolls to get to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Duggan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rolls pulls his head out easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bubba Rolls will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Rolls connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rolls uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Duggan.
Rolls tries to clinch but Duggan is having none of it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Duggan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rolls has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rolls and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Rolls throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Duggan.

Duggan clinches up against the cage.
Rolls misses with a punch on the inside.
Duggan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Rolls has picked Duggan up - he's going for a ride! Rolls dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Duggan is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rolls jumps into side control!
Rolls has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Duggan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rolls wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rolls lands an elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rolls lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Duggan down.

Rolls swings around for an armbar but Duggan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rolls's guard.
Rolls wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Duggan is now in half guard.
Rolls tries to get to full guard but Duggan has control of the leg.

Duggan is working for a kimura but Rolls is defending it quite comfortably.

Duggan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rolls makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rolls.
Duggan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Duggan wants to control from the top but Rolls keeps moving.
Our spies down at at SYDNEY ELITE GYM inform us that Rolls has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Duggan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bubba Rolls has got the better of the ground game so far.

Duggan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rolls dives on top into guard.

Duggan seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Duggan is trying to control the position but Rolls postures up.
Duggan is looking to sweep but instead, Rolls has passed into half guard.
Rolls is trying to control the action in half guard but Duggan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rolls is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rolls wants to take a breather but Duggan is having none of it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Duggan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bubba Rolls showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Rolls throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Duggan throws out a powerful jab.
Rolls lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jim Duggan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duggan moves in looking to clinch but Rolls pushes him off.
Duggan connects with an inside leg kick.
Duggan lands with a hook. Rolls tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Duggan misses with a hook.
Rolls misses with an uppercut. Duggan saw that one coming.
Rolls misses with a jab to the body
and Duggan counters with a nice uppercut.
Duggan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jab, jab by Rolls - just one landing.
Duggan throws a head kick but Rolls moves out of range.
Rolls misses with the combination.
It looked like Duggan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rolls avoids the head kick by Duggan.
Rolls looks to land a left hand but Duggan moved out of range nicely.

Duggan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rolls tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Duggan is in Rolls's guard.

Rolls throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Duggan escapes and throws Rolls's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Duggan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Duggan is looking to take a break and control but Rolls is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rolls is looking for a sweep.
Rolls is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Duggan off and has taken his back!
Rolls looking to hold on to the position here but Duggan rolls and ends up regaining guard.

Duggan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rolls slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rolls cracks Duggan with a big right hand but Duggan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Duggan tries to buck Rolls off but Rolls is having none of it.
Rolls trying to control the action but Duggan is working from the bottom.
Jim Duggan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Duggan takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Rolls wants to take a breather but Duggan manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Rolls.
Duggan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rolls is one step ahead there.

Duggan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rolls defends well.

Duggan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rolls is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rolls throws a big elbow that misses.

Duggan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rolls defends it easily.

Duggan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rolls is aware though and is defending well.
Duggan keeping moving, preventing Rolls from controlling successfully.

Duggan has his foot on Rolls's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rolls works his way back into a safe position though.
Bubba Rolls is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jim Duggan.
I think Rolls has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
