Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Boy Walton (ranked 180 p4p, 212 weight class) and Pedro Fuentes (ranked 29 p4p, 34 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Boy Walton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pedro Fuentes!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fuentes.
Walton feints a jab promting Fuentes to slip. Walton then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Fuentes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Pedro Fuentes has been cut.
Fuentes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Walton stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Walton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walton throws out a loose jab but Fuentes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Walton throws a body punch but Fuentes moves out of range.
Fuentes cracks Walton with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like John Boy Walton has been cut.
Fuentes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A low kick from Walton misses
and Fuentes counters with a solid body kick.
Walton is breathing heavily.
Walton takes a swing at Fuentes's ribcage but misses.
Walton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Fuentes's hands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walton wants to clinch up but Fuentes keeps it at a distance.

Fuentes moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Walton goes down! Can Fuentes finish him!?
Fuentes's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Let's hope that Fuentes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Walton misses the shot to the body.
Walton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A lazy left from Walton finds it's target.
Walton throws a big shot that misses.
Fuentes looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Walton throws a body kick that misses.
Walton misses with a double jab
and Fuentes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fuentes with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fuentes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Walton misses with a hook. Fuentes ducked under it nicely.
Fuentes throws out a counter right but Walton avoids it with no problem.
Fuentes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Fuentes just misses with a punch to the body.
Walton connects with a single shot there.

That has opened up Pedro Fuentes's cut even more.
Fuentes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walton shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Walton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Fuentes.
John Boy Walton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fuentes misses with a looping left.
Fuentes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fuentes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Walton catches Fuentes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The cut above Pedro Fuentes's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Walton throws a leg kick but Fuentes sees it coming and checks it nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Walton misses the target.
Fuentes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Walton lands a big uppercut and Fuentes crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Fuentes looks OK. Walton waves Fuentes back to his feet!

Pedro Fuentes's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Pedro Fuentes's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Boy Walton!
