Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alika Hakekia (ranked 173 p4p, 57 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 28 p4p, 11 weight class). Hakekia's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, GOATED. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 20 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Alika Hakekia!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reedtz misses with a looping left.
Reedtz looks for a takedown but Hakekia sprawls well.
Hakekia tries to score with a low kick but Reedtz moves his leg out of the way.
Hakekia looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Reedtz tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hakekia is able to avoid easily.
Reedtz takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hakekia blocks a jab.
Hakekia catches Reedtz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Reedtz tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Reedtz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hakekia - the referee stops the clock and Reedtz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hakekia. Reedtz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reedtz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hakekia as he jumps to the side.

Alika Hakekia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rasmus Reedtz.

No joy there for Reedtz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Hakekia counters with a three punch combo that has Reedtz backing up. Reedtz nods at Hakekia to acknowledge the strikes.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hakekia is looking to control Reedtz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hakekia avoid being mounted?

It looks like Reedtz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hakekia has a hand on Reedtz's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Reedtz takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

That was a close round but I would say that Alika Hakekia will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reedtz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hakekia but Hakekia pushes him off and we're back to square one.

My spies in Rasmus's Fun House inform me that Reedtz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Hakekia looks to land a left hand but Reedtz moved out of range nicely.

and Reedtz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hakekia's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but Alika Hakekia did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The fighters circle momentarily. Reedtz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Reedtz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Reedtz working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Hakekia is squirming around, avoiding Reedtz's attempts to control the action.
Reedtz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Reedtz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Alika Hakekia will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hakekia, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
