The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ascheulov tries to clinch but King moves out of range.
King swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Ascheulov clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage.

Ascheulov tries to throw a body punch but King avoids it by throwing Ascheulov back against the cage.

We've been told by King's head coaches at Tran MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ascheulov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King fires out a quick counter leg kick but Ascheulov just manages to avoid it.

Ascheulov looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely.
Ascheulov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ascheulov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by King.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ascheulov was well out of range. Poor timing from King.

King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ascheulov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

King throws a hook to the side of Ascheulov's head but Ascheulov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
King takes a shot right to the bread basket.
King shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ascheulov throws an overhand right that lands on King's shoulder, as King tries to avoid the shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ascheulov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.

King lands an overhand right.

Ascheulov is rocked!
King is stalking Ascheulov. Ascheulov circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from King, and it's lights out! Ascheulov really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Klayton King!
