Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fidelity Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ansis Kaupens!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro dodges the punch combination from Kaupens.
Castro has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kaupens.
Kaupens misses with a head kick.

Kaupens moves into the clinch.
Kaupens struggles to land a body shot inside as Castro controls his hands.

Kaupens manages to break the clinch.
Kaupens tests Castro's chin there with a solid looking shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kaupens takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kaupens darts in and clinches Castro up against the cage.

Kaupens tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Castro's elbow.
Kaupens misses with a body punch.
Kaupens digs a right hand into Castro's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Castro's gas tank.
Kaupens is trying to push Castro away but Castro has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kaupens tries a body shot but Castro blocks it.

Kaupens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Castro counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kaupens tries a head kick but it misses.

It looks like Fidelity Castro has been cut.

A quick step to the side and Castro tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kaupens doesn't manage to clinch there - Castro circles away.
Castro slips under a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Castro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Castro swings for the body but Kaupens moves out of range.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kaupens. Castro does a little dance to reset his feet.
A quick step to the side and Castro tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kaupens misses the shot to the body.
Ansis Kaupens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaupens throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Castro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kaupens moves away.
Castro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Castro lands a slapping body shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Castro checks a leg kick.
Castro was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Castro checks a low kick from Kaupens.
Kaupens wants to land a leg kick but Castro is out of range.
A quick step to the side and Castro tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kaupens tries to clinch up but Castro circles away and keeps his distance.
Kaupens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Castro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kaupens tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kaupens bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kaupens changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Castro checks the leg kick nicely there.
Kaupens blocks a head kick by Castro.
Castro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kaupens scores with a jab to the head.
Castro is looking to wear down Kaupens with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A slow jab from Kaupens misses its intended target.
Kaupens digs a good body shot into Castro's ribs.
Castro takes one to the side of the head.
Castro takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ansis Kaupens dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Fidelity Castro's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kaupens throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Castro rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kaupens counters with a solid body kick.
Castro throws a hook but Kaupens blocks it.
Kaupens tries a quick counter leg kick but Castro is wise to it.
Kaupens fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Kaupens lands a big head kick that sends Castro tumbling to the mat! Kaupens takes a step backwards and waves Castro back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Castro is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Castro is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Kaupens Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Castro is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ansis Kaupens!
