Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack McScramble (ranked 1876 p4p, 1664 weight class) and Bobby Mercer (ranked 157 p4p, 144 weight class). Mercer has chosen Why Can't We Be Friends by WAR as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack McScramble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Mercer!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mercer. McScramble does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've been hearing reports that McScramble has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mercer wants to land a leg kick but McScramble is out of range.
McScramble drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mercer sprawls and moves away.
McScramble tries to clinch there but Mercer circles away.
McScramble scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McScramble shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mercer but Mercer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McScramble misses the body punch
and Mercer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McScramble throws a nice looking combination but Mercer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McScramble shoots in looking for a takedown but Mercer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McScramble's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

McScramble looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McScramble's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and McScramble duly obliges.

and McScramble counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mercer!
McScramble is trying to ground and pound but Mercer uses the momentary lack of control by McScramble to regain half guard.

McScramble is trying a forearm choke I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bobby Mercer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

McScramble shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mercer is trying to defend but McScramble finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

McScramble is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mercer sees it coming and defends easily.

McScramble is trying to work for a kimura but Mercer is defending well.

McScramble looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mercer tries to kick McScramble off but McScramble keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
McScramble wants to pass to mount but Mercer is defending the position.
McScramble prevents Mercer from improving his position.
Mercer has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
McScramble looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

I would just about give that final round to Bobby Mercer.
I've got Mercer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
