Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, KJ Hoodwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Diamond!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diamond clinches with his opponent.

Diamond breaks the clinch.

Hoodwell moves into range and clinches up with Diamond.

Diamond breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Diamond pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hoodwell tries to score with a low kick but Diamond moves his leg out of the way.

Hoodwell stuffs the takedown attempt from Diamond. Diamond gets slowly back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hoodwell throws a right hand that Diamond ducks under and follows up with a left that Diamond also avoids with ease.
Hoodwell goes for a double leg but Diamond avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Diamond continues to drive forward.

Hoodwell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hoodwell throws a lazy right hand but Diamond sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Diamond moves into the clinch.
Diamond lands a shoulder strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diamond lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hoodwell backwards.
Hoodwell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Diamond smiles and moves away.
Hoodwell throws a head kick that misses.

Diamond lands a left and a right that sends Hoodwell crashing to the canvas! Diamond dives into mount looking to finish!

Hoodwell is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diamond takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Oh Hoodwell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hoodwell seems to have got his legs back now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoodwell tries to hold on but Diamond postures up.
Diamond controlling the position easily from mount.
Diamond prevents Hoodwell from getting the reversal.
Diamond takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hoodwell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Diamond sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Hoodwell is trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hoodwell tries to reverse the position but Diamond maintains control.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

James Diamond dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Diamond tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hoodwell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diamond somewhat.
James Diamond seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Diamond moves out of range of the strikes.

Hoodwell has taken the fight to the clinch.

Diamond breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hoodwell throws a low kick, looking for Diamond's leg but Diamond calmly moves out of range.

Diamond escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Diamond is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hoodwell to keep the fight standing.

Diamond breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diamond throws a series of punches but Hoodwell moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hoodwell tries to move into range but Diamond moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Diamond slips under a jab.
Hoodwell misses with an uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diamond bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hoodwell's head.
Diamond connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
KJ Hoodwell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hoodwell throws a nice looking combination but Diamond bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoodwell with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Diamond to score with a decent uppercut.
Diamond tries to clinch there but Hoodwell circles away.
Hoodwell tries to move into range but Diamond moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Diamond avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Diamond scores with a hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hoodwell is defended easily by Diamond.
Diamond tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Diamond catches Hoodwell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Diamond throws a monster overhand right that drops Hoodwell! Diamond follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Diamond!
