Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Okon Igwe (ranked 2749 p4p, 1258 weight class) and Ryu Akutagawa (ranked 170 p4p, 86 weight class). Ryu Akutagawa will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Okon Igwe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryu Akutagawa! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Akutagawa finds it's way through Igwe's defenses.
It looks like Okon Igwe has been cut. Akutagawa catches Igwe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Akutagawa throws a big shot that misses. Igwe takes the fight into the clinch. Igwe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Akutagawa just stands there and leans against the cage. Igwe is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Akutagawa to keep the fight standing. Igwe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Akutagawa smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Okon Igwe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Akutagawa lands a head shot. Igwe fails in his attempt to clinch. Igwe moves into the clinch successfully.
Igwe blocks a body shot from Akutagawa. Igwe tries to pull guard but Akutagawa forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Akutagawa lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A short uppercut from Akutagawa. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Igwe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Akutagawa smiles and moves away.
Akutagawa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Igwe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Akutagawa, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Igwe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Igwe tries to pull guard but Akutagawa forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Igwe pulls guard effortlessly. Igwe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Akutagawa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Igwe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Akutagawa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Igwe is tightening it up a little... Akutagawa has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Akutagawa reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Akutagawa taps out! Nice BJJ there by Igwe!
