Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Salim Jihadov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabio Gurgel!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jihadov throws a body punch but Gurgel moves out of range.
Fabio Gurgel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gurgel takes a swing at Jihadov's ribcage but misses.
Gurgel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jihadov is trying to stand.
Gurgel works his way into full mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gurgel looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gurgel working for a guillotine from mount but Jihadov is in no mood to give up.
Jihadov trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jihadov trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Gurgel has hold of Jihadov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jihadov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gurgel moves to the back position.
Jihadov is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. Gurgel sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Jihadov has no choice but to tap and Gurgel jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!
