Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sideways Pete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pete wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance.
Pete clinches.
Diaz manages to break the clinch.
Pete walks into a straight right hand from Diaz.
Pete tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Diaz counter with a right hand.
Pete moves out of range of the strikes.
Pete tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance.
Pete tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Diaz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Diaz connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pete's hands.

Pete tries to clinch up
and Pete takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Diaz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Pete gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Diaz.
Sideways Pete seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pete gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Diaz manages to break the clinch.
Diaz changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Pete moves out of range of the strikes.
Pete tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pete looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pete tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Diaz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It seemed like Diaz was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Pete takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Diaz misses with a looping right.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pete wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance.
Diaz swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Pete dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Diaz pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pete back to the cage. Diaz follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pete wants to clinch but Diaz slips to the side
and Diaz comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Pete stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Diaz is on him like rabid pit bull! Pete slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dick Diaz!
Dick Diaz decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
