Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sonny Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joseph OByrne!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OByrne slips under a jab from Day.
A lazy left from Day finds it's target.
A big right from Day misses.
Day throws the left hand but OByrne avoids the punch easily.
A little jabbing left from OByrne on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
OByrne misses with an uppercut. Day saw that one coming.
Day throwing a counter right hand but OByrne manages to avoid it.
Day looks to land a left hand but OByrne moved out of range nicely.
Day lands a nice shot to the body.
Day ducks under a wild hook from OByrne.
Day has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Doom's Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Day goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
OByrne throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Day on the side of the head.
OByrne throws a right and a left that both miss.
OByrne on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sonny Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OByrne fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
OByrne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Day.

Day bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps OByrne's head backwards.
Day swings away with a body shot that misses
and OByrne counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
OByrne throws a head kick that misses.
OByrne gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A big left from Day misses.
OByrne slips a jab and a cross from Day.
OByrne is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Day connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
OByrne misses with a head kick.
Day misses with a wild body shot.
OByrne ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from OByrne! But no joy.
Day looks to throw the jab but OByrne is out of range.
OByrne looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Day misses with a wild combination.
OByrne is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Day scores with a jab to the body.

Day connects with a high kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Day cracks OByrne with an open hand slap.
Day lands with an uppercut that bounces OByrne off the cage and back into range.
Day lands a slapping body shot.
Day connects with the punch.
Day throws a hook but OByrne avoids it easily.
Day misses the shot to the body.
Good exchange - Day coming out on top.
OByrne moves out of range as Day strikes.
OByrne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Day throws a wild body kick that OByrne sees coming a mile off.
OByrne looks like he wants to counter punch here.
OByrne looks to land a right hand but Day moved out of range.

A looping hook to the body misses from Day. OByrne does a little dance to reset his feet.
A jab from Day finds it's way through OByrne's defenses.

and Day counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Day moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Day throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A telegraphed right hand from OByrne misses the target.
Day tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but OByrne was well out of range. Poor timing from Day.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Day checks a leg kick.
Day lands with a straight right. OByrne didn't see that one coming.
Day throws a lazy right hand but OByrne sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Day lands a jab to the nose.
Day misses with a straight left.
OByrne looks to score with a jab to the body but Day is just out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Day misses the target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Day is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
OByrne has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Day finds it's way round the side to connect with OByrne's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Day throws a body shot but no joy.
Day looks to land a right hand but OByrne moved out of range.
OByrne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Day.
Jab, jab by Day - just one landing.
OByrne gets cracked there but stands up to it.
OByrne on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Day chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Day misses with the combination.
OByrne moves away from the strike by Day.
OByrne unleashes a big counter combination but Day bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
OByrne fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Day looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sonny Day dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

OByrne missing with a left hand there. Day was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Day connects with the punch.
A nice leg kick from Day, right into the meat of the thigh.
Day swings away with a body shot that misses
and OByrne counters with a big head kick but Day shrugs it off.
Day lands with an uppercut that bounces OByrne off the cage and back into range.
Day is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that OByrne can do to turn this around?
OByrne lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Day crumples to the floor! OByrne milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
