Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darwin Budluvski (ranked 1869 p4p, 1377 weight class) and Jesus Christ Karter (ranked 254 p4p, 194 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 31 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Darwin Budluvski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 28 - 20 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jesus Christ Karter! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Budluvski takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Karter has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Karter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Sloppy strikes from Karter. Those never looked like landing. Karter misses with a low kick.
Nice shot by Karter. Budluvski tries to land a leg kick but Karter saw it coming and moves away.
Budluvski scores with a jab to the jaw. Karter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Budluvski has time to react. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Karter, as that shot connected.
Budluvski throws a body punch but Karter moves out of range. Karter lands a glancing blow to the side of Budluvski's head. Karter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Budluvski walks into a stiff left hand from Karter. Karter takes a swing at Budluvski's ribcage but misses. An attempted straight right counter from Budluvski misses the target. Budluvski lands with a nice body punch. Nice straight punches there by Karter. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Karter. Budluvski takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Karter misses the jab. It looked like Budluvski wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Karter takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Karter just misses with a punch to the body.

Karter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Budluvski. Budluvski throws a leg kick but Karter sees it coming and checks it nicely. Karter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A big right from Karter misses. Karter ducks under a wild hook from Budluvski. Budluvski checks the leg kick. Budluvski takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Budluvski moves forwards but Karter connects with a nice, crisp jab. Budluvski scores with a nice body kick.

Karter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Budluvski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Karter somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice cross by Budluvski. Budluvski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A decent looking body kick lands there for Karter. Budluvski cracks Karter with a good jab. A swing and a miss from Karter. Karter lands a jab to Budluvski's midsection. Budluvski buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karter bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Budluvski's head backwards. Karter scores with a sloppy right hand. Budluvski should have avoided that one. Budluvski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Karter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Karter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Budluvski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Karter moves away. Budluvski moves into the clinch. Budluvski softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Karter blocks a body shot from Budluvski. Budluvski misses with the head strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karter pulls guard effortlessly. Karter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Budluvski wants to stand but Karter has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Karter managing to control the position. Budluvski tries to stand but Karter is controlling from the bottom. Budluvski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Budluvski wanted to stand there but Karter had control of the position. Karter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Budluvski defends well. Karter looking for a sweep. Not yet Karter, not yet. Budluvski wants to get up but he can't break Karter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Karter wants to sweep here but Budluvski controlling him for the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jesus Christ Karter dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Good work by Karter as he checks the leg kick. Budluvski misses the body punch and Karter counters with a left to the body. Budluvski steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Karter. That one must have hurt. Budluvski wants to clinch. Budluvski throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Karter on the side of the head. Budluvski slips a straight right by Karter. Budluvski fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Karter with a body punch. A glancing blow. Karter connects with the punch. and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Karter blocks a leg kick. Karter only half commits to the counter leg kick. Karter lunges at Budluvski with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Budluvski's hand. Budluvski throws a leg kick but Karter sees it coming and checks it nicely. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Budluvski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karter was well out of range. Poor timing from Budluvski. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Budluvski misses with a combination

Budluvski takes a swing at Karter's ribcage but misses. Budluvski is looking to wear down Karter with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Karter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A nice side step and Karter releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Darwin Budluvski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Karter swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Budluvski. Karter tests Budluvski's chin there with a solid looking shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Budluvski throws a low kick but it's checked well by Karter. and Karter counters with a nice kick to the body. Budluvski goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Karter cracks Budluvski with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Karter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karter fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Budluvski drops his hands momentarily and Karter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Karter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Karter moves in looking to clinch but Budluvski pushes him off. Karter connects with a body shot that sends Budluvski's belly button to the back. Budluvski fails to land with a series of punches.
Budluvski looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Budluvski misses with a wild body shot. Karter fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Budluvski has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Karter with the inside leg kick. Budluvski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Budluvski has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Budluvski there as he acknowledges the shot. Karter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Budluvski. Karter tries a quick counter leg kick but Budluvski is wise to it. Budluvski is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Karter - just one landing. Budluvski is looking to clinch. Budluvski clinches up with Karter and pushes him back against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Budluvski. Karter lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Budluvski backwards. Karter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Karter tries a body shot but Budluvski blocks it.
Nice body punch from Karter. Budluvski swings wildly with an uppercut but Karter uses good head movement to avoid it. Budluvski tries to break the clinch but Karter is controlling the position. Budluvski tries to throw a body punch but Karter avoids it by throwing Budluvski back against the cage. Karter lands with a light punch inside. Karter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Karter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Budluvski wanted to stand there but Karter had control of the position. Budluvski trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Karter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Budluvski is looking to stand up but Karter won't let him. Karter wants to control the position but Budluvski says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karter is looking to improve his position.

Karter works his way to full guard. Good work. Karter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Budluvski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Budluvski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karter pulls Budluvski in close to his closed guard and prevents Budluvski from doing any damage or advancing position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jesus Christ Karter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! A chopping leg kick lands by Karter. Karter misses with a looping left. Budluvski looks to land a body kick but Karter moved away. Budluvski takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Budluvski ducks under a wild hook from Karter. Karter throws a body punch but Budluvski moves out of range. Budluvski gets in close and instigates a clinch. Budluvski tries to work over Karter's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Karter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Budluvski just stands there and leans against the cage. Still in the clinch, Karter scores with a nice short uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Budluvski misses with a punch to the body.

Karter tightens his grip and picks Budluvski up, before dumping him to the ground. Budluvski manages to land in guard. Karter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Budluvski works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Karter postures up and lands a big shot to Budluvski's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karter chips away with some ground and pound. Karter looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Budluvski keeping moving, preventing Karter from controlling successfully. Karter is looking to work some ground and pound but Budluvski has wrist control. Karter trying to control the position from guard on top but Budluvski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karter sitting in guard, not really doing much. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Budluvski wants to get back to his feet but Karter passes into half guard.
