Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Niaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Judah Christ!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Niaz.
A big left from Christ misses.
Niaz drops down looking for a counter takedown but Christ sprawls and moves away.
Niaz tries to clinch up but Christ circles away and keeps his distance.
Niaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Niaz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Christ lands with a kick to the ribs.

Christ lands a big head kick that sends Niaz tumbling to the mat! Christ takes a step backwards and waves Niaz back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Dick Niaz has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Niaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Christ paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Niaz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Christ defends it nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Niaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Niaz.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dick Niaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Niaz ducks under a wild hook from Christ.

Niaz has Christ up against the cage in a clinch.
Niaz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Christ to keep the fight standing.
Niaz is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Christ is looking to break free of the clinch but Niaz has double underhooks.

Christ misses with the head strike.
Christ lands a body punch in the clinch.
Christ tries to throw a body punch but Niaz avoids it by throwing Christ back against the cage.
Niaz is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Christ is keeping busy.

Christ gets through Niaz's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Christ is stalling here.
Niaz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Christ just stands there and leans against the cage.

Niaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Christ doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Christ manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Niaz tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Niaz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Niaz working for a triangle but Christ defends it easily.

Niaz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Christ escapes and throws Niaz's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Christ controls the position from side control.
You can see the frustration on Niaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Niaz tries to bench press Christ off him but Christ keeps the position.
Christ is looking to take a break and control but Niaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Judah Christ dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dick Niaz's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

Christ misses with a series of wild punches.
Christ throws a sloppy head kick

and Niaz counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Christ!

Christ throws Niaz to one side and escapes!
Judah Christ seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Niaz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Christ.
Niaz is looking to clinch.
A nice side step and Christ releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Christ.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Niaz tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Christ counters with a left to the body.
Christ has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Niaz tries to clinch there but Christ circles away.

Niaz clinches.
Niaz is trying to pull guard but Christ turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Christ lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A shot in the inside from Christ.
Christ is pushing Niaz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Christ looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Niaz tries to pull guard but Christ holds him up against the cage and eventually Niaz drops back down to his feet.

Christ has a couple of punches blocked by Niaz.

Christ manages to break the clinch.
Christ misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Niaz.
Niaz feinted with a counter takedown.
Christ ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Niaz moves away.
Niaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Christ swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Niaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Niaz showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Christ is trying to get back to full guard.
Christ has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Niaz trying to pass the guard but Christ defending well.

Niaz is looking to take a break and control but Christ is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Niaz seems to be looking for submissions.
Niaz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Niaz is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Christ has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Christ!

Niaz is looking to cinch up a triangle. Christ throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Niaz's body to avoid the submission. Niaz has instead reached around Christ's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Niaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
