Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Keenwah Granes (ranked 236 p4p, 442 weight class) and Pee Wee Sasaki (ranked 16 p4p, 33 weight class). Granes comes to the cage accompanied by 敢不敢. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keenwah Granes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pee Wee Sasaki!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sasaki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sasaki throws out a counter right but Granes avoids it with no problem.

Granes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sasaki did well to prevent Granes getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Granes lands with a punch from half guard.
Sasaki trying to control but Granes postures up.
Granes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sasaki is staying active underneath Granes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sasaki is trying to control but can't.
Granes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Granes seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sasaki for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sasaki is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Granes scores with a couple of nice shots.
Granes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Granes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sasaki's head.
Granes slows the pace down in half guard.

Granes throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Sasaki to regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Granes is looking to work some ground and pound but Sasaki has wrist control.
Sasaki tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Granes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Granes trying to control the position from guard on top but Sasaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sasaki is trying to keep Granes in close.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Granes with a flurry of punches that miss.
Granes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Sasaki slips a jab from Granes.
Sasaki cracks Granes with a good jab.
Granes connects with the punch.
A slow jab from Granes misses its intended target.
Sasaki feints a counter leg kick.
Sasaki has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Nice defenses there by Granes.
A low kick lands for Granes.
Granes smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
A big left from Granes misses.
Granes scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Sasaki misses with a looping left.
A leg kick checked by Granes.
Pee Wee Sasaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Granes keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Granes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sasaki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Granes.
Granes appears to be looking for a big counter.
Granes misses with an uppercut. Sasaki saw that one coming.
Sasaki cracks Granes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Keenwah Granes has been cut.
Granes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The fighters circling - Sasaki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Granes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sasaki on his heels. He'll look to pass Sasaki's guard now, I'm sure.
Granes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sasaki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've been hearing that Granes has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Granes's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sasaki connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sasaki sizes up Granes with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sasaki connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Granes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Granes is rocked!
Granes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sasaki counters with a nice low kick that buckles Granes's knee momentarily.
Oh Granes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sasaki fakes the body blow, causing Granes to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Granes goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pee Wee Sasaki!
