We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Donovan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Republic throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Donovan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Republic takes control of his opponent's neck and spins him into the cage. Donovan is off balance and as he stumbles, Republic throws a jumping knee that lands flush on Donovan's chin, knocking him out cold! Oh my word - what a knockout! Definitely one for his highlight reel! If he ever decides to rob a bank and run off to Morocco, that moment is defintely worthy of a tacky mural!

Banana Republic was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
