PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caelan Aengus (ranked 1055 p4p, 1332 weight class) and Johnny Bronco (ranked 145 p4p, 181 weight class). Bronco comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Horses - Daryl Braithwaite kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aengus misses with a straight right.
Aengus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bronco.
Bronco misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Aengus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Aengus throws out a loose jab but Bronco uses good head movement to avoid it.
Aengus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bronco.
Aengus throws a hook but Bronco blocks it.
Bronco takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bronco scores with a nice strike.
Aengus scores with a sloppy right hand. Bronco should have avoided that one.
Aengus cracks Bronco with a good jab.
Aengus definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Aengus slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Aengus throws a lazy uppercut
and Bronco counters with a stiff right hand.
Bronco shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aengus but Aengus pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A little feinted left hand from Aengus on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Bronco takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Bronco's jab looks to have found its range, popping Aengus under the eye.

Bronco avoids a kick to the body.
Aengus throws an overhand right that lands on Bronco's shoulder, as Bronco tries to avoid the shot.
Bronco is looking to clinch.
Bronco slips under a jab.
Bronco misses with a hook. Aengus ducked under it nicely.
Aengus misses with a looping left.

Bronco has managed to clinch.
Bronco struggles to land a body shot inside as Aengus controls his hands.
Bronco tries to work over Aengus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bronco tries to pull guard but Aengus forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Bronco lands a right hand that snaps the head of Aengus backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aengus tries to break free but Bronco pushes him back against the cage.

Bronco's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Bronco has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Aengus should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bronco has tightened it up now! Aengus should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
