Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Hole (ranked 2500 p4p, 3365 weight class) and Luis Ruiz (ranked 204 p4p, 263 weight class). Luis Ruiz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Hole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hole manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ruiz on his heels. He'll look to pass Ruiz's guard now, I'm sure.
Hole postures up in Ruiz's guard and throws a big left but Ruiz blocks it.

Hole seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ruiz for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hole's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Hole throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ruiz was covering up waiting for the punch and Hole finishes the takedown easily into guard.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Hole.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Well, if Hole is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hole changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ruiz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hole moves into full mount!
Hole is landing with some decent strikes but Ruiz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Ruiz's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
A nice elbow there by Hole.

Ruiz bucks up and throws Hole to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Ruiz throws a nice looking combination but Hole bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hole is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Ruiz is in big trouble! Hole is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Ruiz. Poor guy.
