Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Regueiro (ranked 1483 p4p, 3591 weight class) and Shogun Silva (ranked 58 p4p, 130 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Shogun Silva!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regueiro takes the fight into the clinch.
Silva tries for a takedown. No joy.
Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Regueiro gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Regueiro is pressed up against the cage. Silva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Regueiro down to the mat. Regueiro avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Julio Regueiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shogun Silva.
Silva dives in and grabs Regueiro's left leg, looking for a takedown. Regueiro pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
Regueiro has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva wants to take the fight to the mat but Regueiro manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Regueiro stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Regueiro is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Regueiro lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Silva or not.
Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Regueiro gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Regueiro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Regueiro forces Silva back against the cage and clinches.

I was talking to Regueiro's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Regueiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Silva goes for a takedown attempt but Regueiro pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Regueiro scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

No joy there for Regueiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Regueiro tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Regueiro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Regueiro sprawls well.
Regueiro moves into the clinch.
Regueiro swings wildly with an uppercut but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Regueiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Regueiro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Regueiro lands a right hook to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Regueiro as Silva shoots in.
Silva looks for a takedown but Regueiro sprawls well.
Silva looks winded!
Regueiro closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Regueiro lands a left hand.
Silva prevents a body shot from Regueiro.
Regueiro lands with a light punch inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Regueiro breaks from the clinch.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Regueiro swivels and escapes.
Julio Regueiro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Regueiro clinches with his opponent.
Regueiro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Regueiro lands a head kick. Silva smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Regueiro is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Regueiro circles away and we're back to standing.
Regueiro has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Regueiro lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Regueiro shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Silva prevents a body shot from Regueiro.
Regueiro prevents the takedown attempt.
Regueiro breaks the clinch.
Regueiro uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Regueiro scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Regueiro lands with an overhand left.
Regueiro punishes Silva's body with a nice straight punch.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Regueiro, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Regueiro against the cage but Regueiro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva gets tackled into the cage by Regueiro. Regueiro maintains the clinch.
Silva wants a takedown.
Regueiro stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Regueiro scores with a shot to the side of Silva's head.
And that's the end of the fight!
Julio Regueiro showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Regueiro has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Julio Regueiro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
