In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Robert Cleese! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; John Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Cleese tries to clinch up but Taylor circles away and keeps his distance.

Taylor gets a double leg takedown into Cleese's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like Taylor might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Taylor jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cleese is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cleese and Taylor has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Taylor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cleese has escaped the position, nice work there.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cleese. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cleese is trying to improve his position.
Cleese is letting Taylor control him for a moment.

Cleese is looking to reverse the position.
Taylor tries to advance to mount but Cleese denies him.

Taylor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cleese is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Taylor looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cleese is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Taylor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Taylor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cleese moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Cleese not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cleese looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cleese is trying to control the position but Taylor postures up.
Taylor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Cleese is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Taylor is aware though and is defending well.

Cleese is trying to control the position but Taylor postures up.

Cleese working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taylor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taylor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Taylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cleese has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taylor has managed to get both his arms back between Cleese's legs - danger averted.

Taylor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cleese dives on top into guard.
