Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ray White (ranked 650 p4p, 2323 weight class) and Eric Fassett (ranked 34 p4p, 137 weight class). White comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey- Keep Fightin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray White!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Fassett!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by White.
Fassett tries to bench press White off him but White keeps the position.
Fassett managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by White.
Fassett tries to improve position but can't.
White is looking to take a break and control but Fassett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
White is working Fassett over with some ground and pound from side control.
White definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fassett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
White wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fassett keeps working.

Fassett gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
White is just content to waste time from the top position. Fassett takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

White stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fassett swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
White with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

White shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fassett's guard.
White is fighting to break Fassett's control of his arms but Fassett is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
White wants to control from the top but Fassett keeps moving.

Fassett wants to sweep but no luck.
White looking to pass the guard.
Fassett is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

White drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and White jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fassett shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fassett showed some decent athleticism there.

White is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fassett pulls his head out easily.
White is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fassett scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White is refusing to be controlled, as Fassett sits in half guard.
Ray White overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, if Fassett is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Fassett stalling.
Fassett is pressing down on White's thigh, looking to free his foot. White is holding on for now.
White has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fassett is working away from the top position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fassett is nestled in close to White, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fassett dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fassett throws out a loose jab but White uses good head movement to avoid it.

Fassett's coach down at Triumph Over Fear was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fassett's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Fassett shoots in but no luck this time.
White feinted with a counter takedown.
Fassett moves away from the strike by White.
Fassett leaves White with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
White throws an overhand right that lands on Fassett's shoulder, as Fassett tries to avoid the shot.
Fassett tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
White displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fassett throws out the jab.
White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fassett was well out of range. Poor timing from White.

Eric Fassett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Fassett keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

White shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fassett gets back to full guard.
Fassett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in White's guard.

White lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

White stuns Fassett with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Fassett darts in looking for a takedown but White gets double underhooks and turns Fassett into the cage.

White throws a shot from downtown. Fassett moves away and avoids it.
White leaves Fassett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

White closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fassett's guard.

Fassett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fassett shoots in looking for a takedown. White tries to sprawl out of it but Fassett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. White manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

White is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fassett!

White has hold of Fassett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fassett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

White can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fassett is looking to escape.
White lands with some strikes.
White with the ground and pound from mount.
White looking to control but Fassett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fassett tries to reverse the position but White maintains control.

Fassett tries to lock up and control but White gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

White is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Fassett to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Fassett shrugs it off.

White goes for an armbar but Fassett turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fassett.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fassett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fassett lands a straight punch to the body, keeping White at a distance.
Fassett connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between White's hands.
Fassett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but White moves away.
Eric Fassett seems to be getting the better of the standup.

White shoots in for a takedown but Fassett shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray White. That's going to take a lot out of him.
