These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Marwin Mueller has been cut.

A little feinted left hand from Mueller on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ironfeld cracks Mueller with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Mueller counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Ironfeld has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Mueller takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ironfeld tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mueller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ironfeld somewhat.

We've been told by Mueller's head coaches at Bronk´s GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Marwin Mueller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Theros Ironfeld.

Ironfeld dips to his left and cracks Mueller with an uppercut!

and Mueller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ironfeld might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Mueller cracks Ironfeld with an uppercut from hell and Ironfeld crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Mueller's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Ironfeld is rocked!
Mueller gets to his feet and stands over Ironfeld, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Ironfeld felt that one! Mueller unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Ironfeld from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marwin Mueller!

Theros Ironfeld was interviewed post fight and said 'Came in here thinking I could get a chance at that belt, but when the pieces don't fit, the Blacksmith goes back to the forge. I'll be back.'.
