Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Kamaka (ranked 2470 p4p, 2252 weight class) and Omar Dahir (ranked 323 p4p, 293 weight class). Kamaka kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Heartwork - Carcass. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Kamaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Omar Dahir! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dahir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kamaka cracks Dahir with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. A swing and a miss from Kamaka. And Dahir tries to counter it with a takedown but Kamaka pushes his down on his head and steps out. Kamaka lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kamaka definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Dahir shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. It looked like Kamaka was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Kamaka will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Dahir takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Dahir uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kamaka. Dahir drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kamaka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kamaka tries to get out of the position. Dahir sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kamaka is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dahir tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Dahir misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Dahir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dahir in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kamaka managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Dahir.
Dahir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kamaka keeps working. Dahir misses with the ground and pound. Dahir creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kamaka sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Dahir working away. Kamaka seems a little lost for a moment, as Dahir dominates the positioning. You can see the frustration on Kamaka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dahir throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dahir working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dahir remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. That's three minutes gone in the round. Dahir in side control lands a decent elbow. Dahir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kamaka is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dahir connects with a decent elbow. Dahir working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Dahir looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kamaka is avoiding damage well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kamaka takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Kamaka is rocked! Kamaka on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Oh Kamaka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dahir in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Kamaka looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Dahir turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Omar Dahir! During a confident post fight interview, Omar Dahir thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. The defeated Joe Kamaka had this to say: 'Thank you to my opponent and all the fans, my coaches and sponsors.'.
