Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Chang (ranked 2626 p4p, 2610 weight class) and Phil Sprintin (ranked 224 p4p, 222 weight class). Sprintin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Disturbed - Bad Man kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Tommy Chang has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tommy Chang seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Sprintin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sprintin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Chang counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sprintin stuns Chang with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sprintin connects with a body shot that sends Chang's belly button to the back.
Sprintin lands a nice shot to the body.
Sprintin loads up on a big right hand but Chang slips the punch.
Sprintin swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Chang counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sprintin's knee momentarily.
Sprintin lands a nice hook to Chang's body. Chang takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sprintin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chang's head.
Chang moves away from the strike by Sprintin.

Chang throws out a loose jab but Sprintin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Chang lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chang moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sprintin throws an off balance right hand
enabling Chang to counter with a crisp jab.

That kick from Chang tenderised Sprintin's leg. Sprintin is trying to keep his angry face on.
Chang takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looked like Chang wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Chang is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sprintin.

and Chang counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sprintin is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Sprintin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chang to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Chang has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Sprintin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chang connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sprintin scrambles back to his feet.

A little jabbing left from Sprintin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Chang looks to land a left hand but Sprintin moved out of range nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chang smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Sprintin digs a good body shot into Chang's ribs.
Chang thuds his right hand into Sprintin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Chang avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Chang is looking to counter punch.

The fighters circle momentarily. Sprintin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Sprintin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sprintin lands with an uppercut that bounces Chang off the cage and back into range.
Chang is rocked!
Sprintin cracks Chang with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Chang tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sprintin pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Chang is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

An out of breath Phil Sprintin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
