Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ngozi Chai (ranked 682 p4p, 1151 weight class) and Jesse Kruger (ranked 99 p4p, 168 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ngozi Chai!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jesse Kruger!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kruger changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Kruger fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Chai.
Chai throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Chai catches Kruger with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The fighters circling - Chai throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Chai feints and then cracks Kruger's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kruger down.

and Kruger decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chai's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kruger throws a strike but Chai rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Kruger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kruger is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chai is aware though and is defending well.
Kruger can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chai controls the pace.

Chai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kruger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chai has managed to get both his arms back between Kruger's legs - danger averted.

Kruger has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chai is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kruger.

Kruger drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chai manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kruger has Chai in his guard.


Kruger throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chai escapes and throws Kruger's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Chai remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Chai throws a right hand that Kruger ducks under and follows up with a left that Kruger also avoids with ease.
Kruger might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Chai lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
