Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Light Guy (ranked 24751 p4p, 24562 weight class) and Light Mann (ranked 302 p4p, 297 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Guy on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Mann scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Mann connects with a leg kick.
Mann keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mann lands a nice hook to Guy's body. Guy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mann throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Guy to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Light Mann has been cut.
Mann just misses with a punch to the body.
Guy throwing a counter right hand but Mann manages to avoid it.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Guy checks a leg kick.
Guy tries to counter with a takedown but Mann is quick to defend against it.
Guy swats away the attempt to clinch by Mann.

Mann throws a body punch but Guy moves out of range.
Guy looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Mann closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mann lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mann is looking to work some ground and pound but Guy has wrist control.

Mann drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Guy dives on top into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Guy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Mann is trying to control the position but Guy postures up.
Guy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mann is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Guy defends well.
Mann controls Guy momentarily but Guy frees himself.
Mann thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Mann avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mann wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Guy is now in half guard.
Mann is trying to control but can't.

Mann controlling the position well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mann is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
Mann is trying to maintain the position but Guy is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mann changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mann will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mann lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Guy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mann with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mann tries to score with a low kick but Guy moves his leg out of the way.
Mann is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Guy rather than just go for the knockout.
Mann will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
And Guy counters with a quick kick to the body but Mann blocks it.

Mann works Guy's body with a nice hook.
Mann lands a leg kick that knocks Guy off balance momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mann lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Light Mann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guy tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mann misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Guy half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mann looks to score with a jab to the body but Guy is just out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mann lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Guy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mann throws a sloppy head kick and Guy moves out of range easily.
Guy seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Mann lands with a kick to the ribs.
Mann scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Guy doesn't seem bothered though.
Guy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mann swings wildly with an uppercut but Guy uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mann tries to work over Guy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Mann has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Guy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mann throws a punch but it's blocked by Guy.
Mann tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Mann tries to land knees in the clinch but Guy avoids the damage to the body.
Guy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mann gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Guy pushes off an throws an elbow but Mann leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Mann is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Light Guy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Guy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Mann digs a right hand underneath Guy's ribcage. Guy let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Mann goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Guy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mann fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Guy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
