The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter misses with a two punch combination.
Cosme tries to clinch there but Carter circles away.
Carter is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Cosme.
Cosme closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carter struggles to land a body shot inside as Cosme controls his hands.
Carter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cosme backwards.
Carter breaks the clinch.
Cosme tries to clinch
and Carter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Carter counters with a left and a right that stings Cosme.

It looks like Edvaldo Cosme has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cosme tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Despite the aggression on Carter's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Carter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cosme looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carter unleashes a big counter combination but Cosme bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cosme clinches.
Carter lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Cosme backwards.
Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cosme tries to clinch
and Carter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cosme is rocked!
Cosme rushes Carter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Carter pushes Cosme against the cage. Carter is working some dirty boxing. Carter pushes off with a quick right hook! Cosme goes down! Cosme tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Carter moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
