The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock Jr fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Griffin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Griffin looks to throw the jab but Rock Jr is out of range.
Rock Jr avoids the head kick by Griffin.

Griffin told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Griffin has picked Rock Jr up - he's going for a ride! Griffin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Rock Jr is looking to get back to is feet but Griffin passes into side control.

Griffin swings around for an armbar but Rock Jr sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Griffin's guard.
Rock Jr wants to pass the guard but Griffin is keeping the position.

Rock Jr is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Griffin is controlling Rock Jr's trapped leg to prevent Rock Jr from advancing to side control.

Rock Jr is working for a kimura but Griffin is defending it quite comfortably.

Griffin pushes Rock Jr off and gets back to his feet.

Rock Jr moves out of range as Griffin throws a body kick.

Rock Jr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Griffin's sensitive parts.
Rock Jr catches Griffin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rock Jr moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Rock Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rock Jr blocks a head kick by Griffin.
Rock Jr's corner calls for a 1-2. Rock Jr obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Griffin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Rock Jr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Griffin throws a leg kick but Rock Jr sees it coming and moves out of range.
Griffin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Griffin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rock Jr looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rock Jr cracks a nice hook into Griffin's ribs.
Griffin misses with a wild body shot.
Rock Jr throws a nice outside leg kick.
Griffin lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rock Jr will feel that in the morning.
Griffin connects with a body shot.
Rock Jr connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Griffin's hands.
Rock Jr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rock Jr attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rock Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

As Griffin tries to get set, Rock Jr tries to push him back and clinch up but Griffin manages to avoid the attempt.

Rock Jr fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Griffin is out of range.
Griffin throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Rock Jr.

Griffin has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rock Jr is trying to keep an underhook but Griffin manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rock Jr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
