PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charon Lehto (ranked 172 p4p, 190 weight class) and Ali Amir (ranked 24 p4p, 28 weight class). Amir has chosen Mastodon - Gobblers of Dregs as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ali Amir told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ali Amir!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lehto connects with a body shot that sends Amir's belly button to the back.

Lehto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lehto slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lehto and Amir are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Lehto throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Amir into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Lehto knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

After the fight, Charon Lehto was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
