Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Chugman (ranked 823 p4p, 529 weight class) and Ryan Anderson (ranked 119 p4p, 75 weight class). Anderson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Chase the bag (King Von). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 45 - 42 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klaus Chugman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 34 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Anderson! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chugman fails in his attempt to clinch. Anderson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Chugman misses the shot to the body. Ryan Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Anderson misses. Chugman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Anderson on his heels. He'll look to pass Anderson's guard now, I'm sure. Chugman is looking to work some ground and pound but Anderson has wrist control. Anderson trying to control the position here. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Chugman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Anderson thuds his right hand into Chugman's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A big right from Anderson misses. A big left from Anderson misses. Chugman blocks a jab. Anderson throws a jab but it's blocked by Chugman. Anderson looks to land a combination but Chugman avoids it well. Chugman appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Anderson misses with a hook. Chugman fails with the takedown. Anderson thuds his right hand into Chugman's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Chugman tries to clinch up but Anderson circles away and keeps his distance. That's one minute gone in the round. Chugman tightens his grip and picks Anderson up, before dumping him to the ground. Anderson manages to land in guard. Chugman forces his way into half guard. Chugman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Anderson is trying to control but Chugman passes into side control!

Anderson has hold of Chugman's hands but Chugman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Chugman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Anderson trying to control but Chugman postures up.

Chugman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Anderson defends it well. Anderson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Chugman. Anderson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Chugman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anderson is looking to escape. Chugman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Klaus Chugman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chugman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Chugman on the wrong end of a nice hook.
