Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Gracie (ranked 539 p4p, 634 weight class) and Leonard Nimoy (ranked 86 p4p, 101 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Limp Bizkit - Rollin' blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 27 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonard Nimoy!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Watson and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Nimoy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gracie lands a jab.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Nimoy sprawls well.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Bryan Gracie has been cut.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nimoy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nimoy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

Gracie is stalling here. Nimoy is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gracie seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nimoy has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Gracie is trying to get back to half guard.
Nimoy is staying tight to Gracie's torso, preventing him from escaping.
We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Gracie tries to bench press Nimoy off him but Nimoy keeps the position.

Nimoy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gracie to his feet.
Nimoy just misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie attempts a counter takedown but Nimoy avoids it well and moves away.
Leonard Nimoy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nimoy lands a glancing blow to the side of Gracie's head.

Nimoy cracks Gracie with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gracie looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Nimoy finish him?

Gracie is rocked!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nimoy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gracie.
Nimoy throws a counter combo.
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Nimoy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now.
Nimoy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nimoy missing with a left hand there. Gracie was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Gracie has managed to clinch.
Nimoy tries to work over Gracie's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Gracie looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Gracie is trying to push Nimoy away but Nimoy has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Nimoy digs a right hand into Gracie's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Gracie's gas tank.
Gracie lands an elbow that stopped Nimoy in his tracks for a moment.
Nimoy doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Nimoy avoids a wild elbow strike from Gracie.
Nimoy blocks an elbow strike from Gracie.
Nimoy makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Gracie throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
A nice left hand lands by Nimoy.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gracie just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nimoy's brow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nimoy ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gracie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nimoy throws out the jab.
Gracie misses with an uppercut. Nimoy saw that one coming.
Leonard Nimoy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nimoy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gracie misses with a left hand
and Nimoy counters with a nice body shot.
Gracie wants to clinch but Nimoy slips to the side
and Nimoy counters with a straight right hand.
Gracie throws a lazy uppercut
and Nimoy counters with a straight right hand.
A jab from Gracie misses.
Nimoy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nimoy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nimoy punishes Gracie's body with a nice straight punch.
Gracie has his takedown stuffed
and Nimoy scores with a counter punch that sends Gracie to the canvas! Nimoy smells blood - he's punishing Gracie with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Gracie has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
