Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nasir Malikai (ranked 2421 p4p, 3279 weight class) and Chase McDormit (ranked 316 p4p, 402 weight class). Malikai comes to the cage accompanied by Huka Blues. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chase McDormit!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDormit misses with an uppercut. Malikai saw that one coming.
Malikai half committed to a counter leg kick.
Malikai uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Malikai lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Malikai fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McDormit.

Malikai has McDormit pressed against the cage. He pushes McDormit back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Malikai throws a beautiful elbow that sends McDormit crashing to the floor! Malikai piles on the pressure with more strikes! McDormit is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nasir Malikai!
A victorious Nasir Malikai thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Chase McDormit was interviewed post fight and said 'I think I drank too much before the fight... I need a beer.'.
