Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Murphy (ranked 1656 p4p, 1299 weight class) and Kealin Bishop (ranked 222 p4p, 172 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gunnar Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kealin Bishop!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy slips a jab and a cross from Bishop.
It looked like Murphy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bishop's coach down at Triumph Over Fear was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bishop's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Murphy misses with a straight right.
Murphy connects with an inside leg kick.
Bishop throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Bishop swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bishop throws a low kick but Murphy avoids it.
A shot to the body from Bishop misses
and Bishop takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Kealin Bishop has been cut.
Murphy wants to land a leg kick but Bishop is out of range.
Murphy thumps Bishop with a low kick.
Bishop misses with a left hand
and Murphy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Murphy lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bishop with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Murphy to score with a decent uppercut.
Bishop is rocked!
Murphy scores with a leg kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Murphy. Bishop shrugs it off though.
Murphy slips under a jab.
Bishop connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Murphy momentarily.

Bishop tries to clinch up.

Murphy cracks Bishop with a right hand to the side of the head.
Murphy looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bishop, as that shot connected.
Bishop jabs at Murphy's body.
Murphy takes one to the side of the head.
Bishop is looking to score with low kicks.
Murphy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Murphy throws a hook but Bishop avoids it easily.
Bishop ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Murphy tries to move into range but Bishop moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Murphy throws a good cross that connects.
Bishop throws an off balance right hand
and Murphy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bishop misses the jab.
Murphy rushes Bishop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bishop lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Bishop blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Murphy fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Murphy lands with a light punch inside.
Bishop lands a right hand that snaps the head of Murphy backwards.
Murphy blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bishop jumps guard but Murphy stands there with Bishop around his waist. Bishop gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bishop tries to pull guard but Murphy holds him up against the cage and eventually Bishop drops back down to his feet.
Murphy connects with a nasty looking knee right to Bishop's face.
Bishop lands a left hand that snaps the head of Murphy backwards.
Bishop fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gunnar Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kealin Bishop.
A hook to the body from Bishop.
Bishop is trying to stall.
Murphy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bishop blocks the body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murphy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bishop.
A little feinted left hand from Murphy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Murphy tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Murphy misses with a series of wild punches.
Murphy swings widly with a right hand
and Bishop makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Murphy drops his hands momentarily and Bishop takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Murphy misses the jab.
Bishop bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Murphy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Murphy there as he acknowledges the shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Murphy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bishop has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bishop and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A jab lands there for Murphy.
Murphy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Murphy clinches up with Bishop and pushes him back against the cage.
Bishop manages to pull guard.
Murphy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bishop has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murphy has managed to get both his arms back between Bishop's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bishop has his feet on Murphy's thighs here. He's pushed Murphy off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Murphy screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kealin Bishop!
After winning the bout, Kealin Bishop thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
