The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steel Iii closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dewitt's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dewitt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Steel Iii stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dewitt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

As Steel Iii looks to move away, Dewitt throws a big counter combo but Steel Iii just gets out of the way.

and Dewitt makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
The fighters circling - Steel Iii throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Howie Dewitt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Steel Iii fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dewitt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Steel Iii to score with a decent uppercut.
Steel Iii looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Steel Iii fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dewitt lands with a thumping leg kick.
Steel Iii keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Dewitt quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dewitt was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Dewitt cracks Steel Iii with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Steel Iii looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Dewitt finish him?
