Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Dawkins (ranked 911 p4p, 966 weight class) and Santino Cabal (ranked 146 p4p, 152 weight class). Santino Cabal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Dawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santino Cabal!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawkins misses with a left hand
and Cabal counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Jason Dawkins has been cut.
Cabal throws the left hand but Dawkins avoids the punch easily.
Cabal throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A low kick from Dawkins is predictable there
enabling Cabal to counter with a crisp jab.
Dawkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cabal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cabal gets caught napping as Dawkins dives in and scores a takedown. Cabal manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dawkins won't allow Cabal to sweep him here.
Dawkins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cabal wants to get back to his feet but Dawkins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dawkins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Cabal can't keep his opponent in guard - Dawkins advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cabal wants to get back to his feet.
Dawkins is working for a kimura but Cabal is defending it quite comfortably.
Dawkins prevents Cabal from improving his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dawkins works his way into side control.
Cabal wants to get back to his feet.
Cabal throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Dawkins wants to control but Cabal is keeping him busy.
Cabal is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dawkins passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cabal!

Cabal is squirming around, avoiding Dawkins's attempts to control the action.

Dawkins has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cabal's face.
