Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris John (ranked 192 p4p, 1449 weight class) and Tiago Tomate (ranked 29 p4p, 191 weight class). John's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Don't Stop Me Now. Tomate has chosen “Danger! High Voltage”, by Electric Six as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tiago Tomate!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomate checks a low kick from John.
John slips under a jab from Tomate.
John throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tomate moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
John misses with a low kick as Tomate jumps back.
John throws a jab when Tomate was well out of range.
Tomate misses with an uppercut.
Tomate throws a right hand that misses
and John counters with a stiff right hand.
Tomate buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
John misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tomate jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A little feinted left hand from John on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
John throws a leg kick but Tomate moved away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tomate takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tomate is rocked!
John measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Tomate! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Chris John!
Chris John retains his lightweight title!
In his post fight interview, Chris John started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
