Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kent Dew (ranked 2260 p4p, 1872 weight class) and James Dalton (ranked 199 p4p, 166 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kent Dew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Dalton!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dew throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dalton's waist but Dalton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dew off to one side.
Dalton with the counter takedown but Dew avoids it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Dalton. No joy for Dew on that attempt.
Dalton drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dew defends it well.
Dalton looks to score with a jab to the body but Dew is just out of range.
Dew appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Dalton gets caught flat footed, as Dew shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dew landing some decent shots from guard.
Dew missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Dalton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dew gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dalton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dew chips away with some ground and pound.
Dalton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dew manages to get himself to full guard.

Dew is looking to sweep but instead, Dalton has passed into half guard.
Dew tries to get to full guard but Dalton has control of the leg.
Dalton winds up and cracks Dew with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dalton seems to be looking for submissions.
Dalton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dew has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dew wants to get back to full guard but Dalton has passed into side control.
Dew is trying to improve his position.
Dew looking for a sweep but Dalton has passed into full mount! Oh no!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dew is working hard here to advance position.

Dalton throws some wild stikes that Dew manages to avoid easily.
Dew tries to improve his position but instead Dalton has taken his back!
Dew tries to break free.
Dew turns into Dalton and is now in his guard.
Dalton throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Dew won't allow Dalton to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dew scoring with punches to the head and body.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dalton is trying to control the position but Dew postures up.

Dalton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dew landing with the ground and pound.
Dew is working Dalton over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dew's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Dalton will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dew shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dalton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dew with a nice head shot there.

Dalton is rocked!
Dew loads up on a big left hand. Dalton felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Dew looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Dalton can't hide his disappointment, as Dew celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kent Dew!
