Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Menezes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Marcus Alexander!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menezes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alexander defends it nicely.
Menezes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alexander counters with a stiff right hand.
Alexander connects with a good right hand that stumbles Menezes. Menezes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Alexander has managed to clinch.
Menezes is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Alexander lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Menezes backwards.
Menezes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Alexander misses with a short punch on the inside.
Menezes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Menezes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Menezes misses with a straight left.
Menezes throws a body shot but no joy.
Menezes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alexander's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Menezes looking to sit in guard and control but Alexander gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Menezes working for a triangle but Alexander defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Menezes is looking for a triangle but Alexander pushes his legs off easily.

Alexander got a little sloppy there for a moment and Menezes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alexander has managed to get both his arms back between Menezes's legs - danger averted.
Alexander passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Menezes has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Alexander. Oh but Menezes has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Alexander goes limp - he's gone! Menezes jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
