Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scoot Tatum (ranked 2555 p4p, 1706 weight class) and James Johnson (ranked 206 p4p, 150 weight class). Tatum kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Johnny Cash-The Man Comes Around. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatum tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Scoot Tatum has been cut.
Johnson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tatum.
Tatum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Tatum ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Tatum lands with a short shot to the head.
Tatum tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tatum doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scoot Tatum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Tatum takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
