The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matijevic swats away the attempt to clinch by Dixon.
A counter left hand to the body from Matijevic misses its target.
Dixon misses with a takedown attempt - Matijevic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dixon moves in looking to clinch but Matijevic pushes him off.
And Matijevic counters with a quick kick to the body but Dixon blocks it.
Matijevic ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Matijevic tries to keep at a distance but Dixon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dixon is trying to pull guard but Matijevic has him pressed against the cage.

Matijevic's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dixon takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Matijevic pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dixon is out of range and Matijevic settles back down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Matijevic is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dixon.

Dixon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Matijevic is fending him off so far but Dixon persists. Nope, Matijevic circles away and we're back to standing.

Matijevic jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dixon.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dixon or perhaps it was just good defense by Matijevic, which made it look bad.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Matijevic counters with a huge left! Dixon is in big trouble! He's backing up but Matijevic isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Dixon from any more damage. A dominating finish by Matijevic!
