Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergej Kersikov (ranked 526 p4p, 646 weight class) and Curtis Rome (ranked 80 p4p, 89 weight class). Kersikov comes to the cage accompanied by Re-Style - I'm Alive. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Rome!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rome shoots in for a takedown but Kersikov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kersikov is looking to counter punch.
Nice takedown defense from Kersikov. No joy for Rome on that attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Kersikov misses the target.
Rome throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kersikov's waist but Kersikov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rome off to one side.
Sergej Kersikov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis Rome.
Kersikov scores with a jab to the jaw.
Rome shoots for a double leg takedown but Kersikov sprawls well. He's pushed Rome's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kersikov lands a big head kick that sends Rome tumbling to the mat! Kersikov takes a step backwards and waves Rome back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Curtis Rome has been cut.

Kersikov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rome gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kersikov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Rome looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Rome takes a jab right on the kisser.
Rome goes for a double leg but Kersikov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kersikov continues to drive forward.
Kersikov looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Kersikov throws a good cross that connects.
Rome tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kersikov defends well and Rome ends up having to push Kersikov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rome scores with a jab. Kersikov acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Kersikov counters with a head kick that drops Rome to the mat! Rome scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

We've been told by Kersikov's head coaches at KFA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rome is holding his hands too far apart here. Kersikov throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Rome is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
