Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan David Franco (ranked 2814 p4p, 2486 weight class) and John Edmonds (ranked 342 p4p, 0 weight class). Franco comes into the arena with Bullet For My Valentine- Tears Don't Fall blaring out of the sound system. Edmonds has chosen Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan David Franco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 35 - 27 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edmonds throws a right and a left that Franco avoids nicely. Juan David Franco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franco on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Edmonds looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Franco! Franco trying to remain calm as Edmonds controls from the top position. Edmonds goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Franco has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Edmonds but great work by Franco. Edmonds is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Edmonds wants to get back to full guard. Edmonds keeps trying to improve his position. Edmonds is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edmonds is looking for a sweep. Franco is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Edmonds is trying to control but can't.
Edmonds is doing well to control the position and prevent Franco from advancing to side control. Edmonds tries to roll over but Franco keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Edmonds is still trying to improve position. Edmonds is controlling Franco's trapped leg to prevent Franco from advancing to side control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Franco misses the jab. And Edmonds tries to counter it with a takedown but Franco pushes his down on his head and steps out. Edmonds connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The fighters circling - Franco throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Edmonds cracks Franco with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Franco misses with a head kick.
Franco looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edmonds avoids the body shot from Franco.
Edmonds changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Edmonds blocks a head kick by Franco.
Franco swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Edmonds lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Franco throws a head kick that misses. Edmonds drives through with a takedown into guard. Edmonds not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Edmonds stops Franco from standing up. Edmonds looking to pass the guard. Edmonds content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edmonds is pushing down on Franco's leg trying to pass to half guard. Franco is fighting to maintain full guard but Edmonds has managed to sneak the leg through. Edmonds is working for a submission of some sort.
Edmonds is trying for a kimura here. Franco looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Edmonds wins by kimura!
