Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyrann Madden (ranked 2657 p4p, 2111 weight class) and Miyata San (ranked 223 p4p, 183 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyrann Madden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miyata San! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madden throws a jab but it's blocked by San. San throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Madden was covering up waiting for the punch and San finishes the takedown easily into guard. San won't allow Madden to get back to his feet. San with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Madden wants to get back to his feet but San is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Madden avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. San working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. San scoring with some ground and pound. San controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. San prevents Madden from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. San chips away with some ground and pound. San working some strikes from top position. San throwing strikes but missing. San chips away with some ground and pound. San trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. San is working Madden over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Madden avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Madden on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Madden tries to get out of the position. San won't allow Madden to get back to his feet. Madden is looking to stand back up but San counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Madden. Madden is trying to stand up here but San is controlling him well. Madden's coaches at Yellow Lotus Center of Healing and Meditative Arts have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from San. San landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. San thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Madden's head. San working the head and body with strikes. Madden pushes San off but San dives into side control.
Madden wants to get back to his feet but San is dominant here and he's now got Madden's back! Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards San.
San is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Madden has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but San has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Madden taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. San doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Miyata San! During a confident post fight interview, Miyata San thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
