Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Toe Jam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, William Smyth! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Smyth. Smyth will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jab, jab by Jam - just one landing. Jam avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smyth takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jam throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Smyth's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Jam dives in looking to finish as Smyth flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Jam's strikes! Jam is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Smyth's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Smyth was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Toe Jam! Toe Jam took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Northern Zombie for their support in the buildup to the fight.
